Inspection Procedure 4: Rear high voltage system

noteWhen measuring the insulation resistance, set the range of the special tool electric insulation tester (MB992355) to 1,000 V.

  • MB992355: Electric insulation tester
1.Insulation resistance check of rear motor
Check the insulation resistance of the rear motor (Refer to CHECK ON INSULATION RESISTANCE OF REAR MOTOR.
Is the check result normal?
Replace the rear motor assembly (Refer to MOTOR (ELECTRIC MOTOR UNIT) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION).
 
2.Insulation resistance check of On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter
Check the insulation resistance of the On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter (Refer to CHECK ON INSULATION RESISTANCE OF ON BOARD CHARGER (OBC) /DC-DC CONVERTER).
Is the check result normal?
Replace the On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter (Refer to ON BOARD CHARGER (OBC) &DC-DC CONVERTER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION).
 
3.Insulation resistance check of AC inverter high voltage cable
(1) Disconnect the AC inverter high voltage cable from the junction box, and measure the insulation resistance at the cable side.
 
+ terminal– terminalNormal condition
AC inverter high voltage cable P terminalBody ground10 MΩ or more
AC inverter high voltage cable N terminal
Is the check result normal?
 
4.Insulation resistance check of AC inverter
Check the insulation resistance of the AC inverter (Refer to CHECK THE INSULATION RESISTANCE IN THE AC INVERTER).
Is the check result normal?
Replace the AC inverter high voltage cable.
Replace the AC inverter (Refer to AC INVERTER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION.
 
5.Insulation resistance check of drive battery rear cable (junction box)
(1) Disconnect the drive battery rear cable (junction box) from the junction box, and measure the insulation resistance at the cable side.
 
+ terminal– terminalNormal condition
Drive battery rear cable (junction box) P terminalBody ground10 MΩ or more
Drive battery rear cable (junction box) N terminal
Is the check result normal?
Replace the drive battery rear cable (junction box) (Refer to DRIVE BATTERY CABLE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION).
 
6.Insulation resistance check of drive battery rear cable (rear motor)
(1) Disconnect the drive battery rear cable (rear motor) from the junction box, and measure the insulation resistance at the cable side.
 
+ terminal– terminalNormal condition
Drive battery rear cable (rear motor) P terminalBody ground10 MΩ or more
Drive battery rear cable (rear motor)) N terminal
Is the check result normal?
Replace the drive battery rear cable (rear motor) (Refer to DRIVE BATTERY CABLE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION).
 
7.Insulation resistance check of junction box
Check the insulation resistance of the junction box (Refer to CHECK THE INSULATION RESISTANCE IN THE JUNCTION BOX.
Is the check result normal?
Replace the junction box (Refer to JUNCTION BOX REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION).
 
8.Check whether the DTC is set again.
Is the DTC set?
Perform the "Inspection procedures when BMU P0AA6-00: Insulation Resistance Drop Detection Diagnosis is set." again (Refer to DIAGNOSIS CHART FOR DTC No. P0AA6-00).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to General Information - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS).
