TROUBLE SYMPTOM CHART

On Board Charger (OBC) <Normal charging cable related>

When the charging system is normal, the indicator on the control box of the normal charging cable illuminates as follows.
READY (GREEN)POWER (ORANGE)FAULT (RED)Operating condition
IlluminateIlluminateIlluminateWhen the normal charging cable plug is connected to the outlet, all indicators illuminate for approximately 0.5 seconds.
IlluminateOFFOFFIn any of the following conditions
  • Charging is complete.
  • Charging standby status <Vehicles with timer charging function>
  • Normal charge connector is not connected to the normal charge port.
IlluminateIlluminateOFFThe drive battery is charging.

When the charging system is abnormal, the indicator on the control box of the normal charging cable illuminates or blinks as follows.
READY (GREEN)POWER (ORANGE)FAULT (RED)Abnormal conditionCorrective action
OFFOFFOFFThe outlet is not energised, or the normal charging cable is malfunctioning. Perform Inspection Procedure 2 "When the normal charging cable plug is connected to the outlet, all indicators on the normal charging cable do not illuminate." (Refer to When the normal charging cable plug is connected to the outlet, all indicators on the normal charging cable do not illuminate.).
BlinkOFFOFFThe ground wire of the outlet may be disconnected. Or ground resistance may be malfunctioning.Have it inspected by a licensed electrician.
BlinkBlinkIlluminateThe temperature detection circuit of the normal charging cable plug is broken. While the POWER indicator is blinking, the charging current is restricted.Replace the normal charging cable.
noteUse another normal charging cable which works normally and check that the symptom does not reproduce.
OFF
BlinkBlinkBlinkThe temperature of the normal charging cable plug is high. While the POWER indicator is blinking, the charging current is restricted.Discontinue use immediately and have the outlet inspected by a licensed electrician. After that, if the same condition continues, carry out Inspection Procedure 3 "The indicator on the normal charging cable does not illuminate normally. (Detection of high temperature)" (Refer to The indicator on the normal charging cable does not illuminate normally. (Detection of high temperature)).
OFF
IlluminateBlinkIlluminateThe internal circuits of the normal charging cable are broken.Replace the normal charging cable.
noteUse another normal charging cable which works normally and check that the symptom does not reproduce.
OFF
IlluminateOFFBlinkThere is electrical leakage, or a communication error is occurring.Perform Inspection Procedure 4 "The indicator on the normal charging cable does not illuminate normally. (Detection of electric leakage or abnormality occurrence of communication)" (Refer to The indicator on the normal charging cable does not illuminate normally. (Detection of electric leakage or abnormality occurrence of communication)).
IlluminateBlinkBlinkThe charging current is restricted due to abnormal outlet voltage.Use a proper outlet for the normal charging cable rated voltage (AC 120V specification).
