DTC P1469-62: Canister PRESS. SENS./manifold absolute PRESS. SENS. correlation

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
  • Canister pressure sensor is built into the Evaporative Leak Check Module (ELCM).
  • During the key-off evaporative leakage monitoring, compare the atmospheric pressures measured by the manifold absolute pressure sensor and canister pressure sensor, and when the difference is larger than the predetermined value, it is judged as a failure.

MONITOR EXECUTION
Once per driving cycle.

DTC SET CONDITIONS
Logic Flow Chart
Check Conditions
  • Power supply mode of the electric motor switch is OFF.
  • 12V battery positive voltage is 11.0 volts or higher.
  • Engine coolant temperature is higher than 4°C (39°F) and lower than 35°C (95°F).
  • Intake air temperature at ECM wake-up is higher than 4°C (39°F) and lower than 35°C (95°F).
  • ECM is woken up in 5, 6 or 8.5 hours since the power supply mode of electric motor switch was OFF.
  • Barometric pressure is 76 kPa (22.4 in.Hg) or higher.
  • Fuel level is 85 percent or less.
  • Fuel tank pressure at ECM wake-up is less than 19.96 kPa (5.89 in.Hg) or more than 40.00 kPa (11.81 in.Hg).
  • Accumulated time that power supply mode of electric motor switch is ON is more than 27 minutes.
Judgment Criterion
  • Difference between manifold absolute pressure sensor output and canister pressure sensor output is more than specified value for 2 seconds.

FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION
Indicates "REFUELING SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED" on the information screen in the multi-information display.

OBD-II DRIVE CYCLE PATTERN
Refer to Diagnostic Function, OBD-II Drive Cycle – Pattern 4 OBD- II DRIVE CYCLE.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS (The most likely causes for this code to be set are:)
  • Canister pressure sensor (built into the ELCM) failed.
  • Manifold absolute pressure sensor failed.
  • Open or shorted canister pressure sensor circuit or connector damage.
  • ECM failed.

1.STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III SE), read the DTC.
Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III SE) to check and see if a DTC other than P1469-62 is set.
Q: Is DTC other than P1469-62 set?
Perform troubleshooting for the set DTC (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART).

2.STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III SE), check the data list.
Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III SE) to check the data list (Refer to DATA LIST REFERENCE TABLE).
  • Item number 860: EVAP System Leak Detection Pump Pressure Sensor
Q: Is the check result normal?

3.STEP 3. Perform voltage measurement at ELCM connector terminal number 7.
  • Disconnect connector, and measure at harness side.
  • Power supply mode of electric motor switch: ON
  • Voltage between ELCM connector terminal number 7 and ground.
OK: 4.9 to 5.1 volts.
Q: Is the check result normal?
Perform troubleshooting for the canister pressure sensor system (Refer to diagnostic trouble code procedure for DTC P24B9-00: Canister pressure sensor circuit performance DTC P24B9-00: Canister pressure sensor circuit performance, Refer to diagnostic trouble code procedure for DTC No. P24BA-00: EVAP System Leak Detection Pump Pressure Sensor Circuit Low DTC P24BA-00: EVAP System Leak Detection Pump Pressure Sensor Circuit Low, and Refer to diagnostic trouble code procedure for DTC P24BB-00: EVAP System Leak Detection Pump Pressure Sensor Circuit High DTC P24BB-00: EVAP System Leak Detection Pump Pressure Sensor Circuit High).
