STEP 1. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) CAN bus diagnostics
(1) caution | To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-III), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-III). |
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-III). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-III)
."
(2) Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(3) Diagnose the CAN bus line.
(4) Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2. Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ).
STEP 2. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) DTC for other systems.
STEP 3. Brake fluid level check
STEP 5. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) data list for other system
STEP 6. Brake fluid level switch check
STEP 7. Resistance measurement at brake fluid level switch connector.
(1) Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Measure the resistance between the brake fluid level switch connector (ground terminal) and the body ground.OK: The resistance should be 2 ohms or less
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 9. Go to Step 8.
STEP 8. Check of open circuit in ground line between brake fluid level switch connector and the body ground
STEP 9. Check of short to power supply, short to ground, and open circuit in BFSW line between ETACS-ECU connector and brake fluid level switch connector
STEP 10. Parking brake lever stroke check
STEP 11. Parking brake switch check
STEP 12. Check of short to power supply, short to ground, and open circuit in BRK line between combination meter connector and parking brake switch connector
STEP 13. Retest the system.
STEP 14. Retest the system.
