caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect DTC may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ).
  • If DTCs U0100, U0101, U0114, U0126, U0141, U0317, U15A0 and U15A5 are set in ASC-ECU, always diagnose the CAN bus line. If there is any fault in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect DTC may be set. In this case, the set DTC is not highly reliable.
  • Before replacing the ECU, ensure that the communication circuit is normal.

DTC SET CONDITIONS
This DTC is set if ASC-ECU cannot receive the signal sent from other ECU for a certain period.

OPERATION
ASC-ECU communicates with the ECM, TCM, AWD-ECU <Vehicles without S-AWC>, AWC-ECU <Vehicles with S-AWC>, steering wheel sensor, ETACS-ECU, electric parking brake ECU, ACC-ECU and FCM/LDW/AHB-ECU via the CAN bus lines.

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) CAN bus diagnostics
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-III), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-III).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-III). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-III) ."
(2) Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(3) Diagnose the CAN bus line.
(4) Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ). On completion, go to Step 4.

STEP 2. Check whether the DTC is set again.
Is DTC U0100, U0101, U0114, U0126, U0141, U0317, U15A0 or U15A5 set?
Go to Step 3.
The procedure is complete.

STEP 3. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) other system DTC
Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III) to check that other DTC is set in the ECU corresponding to the relevant diagnosis.
Is other DTC set?
Troubleshoot for the relevant DTC.
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) DTC
Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III) to check if the same DTC (time-out) is set in the other ECU.
Is any DTC set?
: Replace the ECM (Refer to GROUP 13A - ECM <2.4L ENGINE>, GROUP 13B - ECM <3.0L ENGINE>).
: Replace the TCM (Refer to GROUP 23A - TCM <CVT> or GROUP 23C - TCM <A/T>).
: Replace AWD-ECU (Refer to GROUP 27C - AWD-ECU ) <Vehicles without S-AWC> or AWC-ECU (Refer to GROUP 23A - AWC-ECU ) <CVT (Vehicles with S-AWC)> or Refer to GROUP 23C - AWC-ECU ) <A/T (Vehicles with S-AWC)>.
: Replace steering wheel sensor (Refer to ).
: Replace the ETACS-ECU (Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS ).
: Replace the electric parking brake ECU (Refer to GROUP 36 - Electric Parking Brake ECU ).
: Replace the ACC-ECU (Refer to GROUP 17 - Adaptive Cruise Control System (ACC) ).
: Replace the FCM/LDW/AHB-ECU (Refer to ).
: Go to Step 5.

STEP 5. Check whether the DTC is set again.
Erase the DTC.
Is DTC U0100, U0101, U0114, U0126, U0141, U0317, U15A0 or U15A5 set?
Replace the hydraulic unit (integrated with ASC-ECU) (Refer to ).
The procedure is complete.
