DTC P10DA: Clutch fail
cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the communication circuit is normal.

DESCRIPTIONS OF MONITOR METHODS
  • The PHEV-ECU monitors if the clutch is connected when the driving mode is the EV driving mode or the series driving mode.

MONITOR EXECUTION
Continuous

MONITOR EXECUTION CONDITIONS (Other monitor and Sensor)
Other Monitor (There is no temporary DTC stored in memory for the item monitored below)
  • Clutch solenoid valve monitor
Sensor (The sensor below is determined to be normal)
  • Not applicable

TROUBLE JUDGMENT
Check Conditions <Driving mode: EV driving mode>
  • The EV driving mode continues for 1 second or more
  • The front drive motor rotation speed is 750 rpm or more.
  • The amount of change of the difference between the actual input shaft rotation speed and the output shaft rotation speed is 10 rpm/sec or less.
Check Conditions <Driving mode: Series driving mode>
  • In the series driving mode, a state where the difference between the target revolution speed of the generator and the estimated revolution speed of the generator with the clutch system ON is 1,000 rpm or more continues for 1 second or more.
  • The front drive motor rotation speed is 750 rpm or more.
  • The amount of change of the difference between the actual input shaft rotation speed and the output shaft rotation speed is 10 rpm/sec or less.
Judgment Criterion
  • When a state where the difference between the input shaft rotation speed and the output shaft rotation speed is 8 rpm/sec or less continues for 1 second or more

OBD-II DRIVE CYCLE PATTERN
  • Refer to Diagnostic Function - OBD-II Drive Cycle - Pattern 10 .

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • The front transaxle fails (clutch stick).
  • The valve body fails. <foreign material in the proportional valve (clutch)>
  • Malfunction of the PHEV-ECU.
  • Damaged harness or connector.

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the other DTC is set.
Check if DTC P10C6 is set in the PHEV-ECU.
Is the DTC set?
Carry out troubleshooting for DTC P10C6 (Refer to ). Then go to Step 4.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check whether the clutch is stick.
The crankshaft should not turn when the vehicle is moved (vehicle standing on its wheels).
Is the crankshaft stationary?
Go to Step 3.
Replace the front transaxle assembly (Refer to GROUP 22A - Front Transaxle ). Then go to Step 4.

STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), test hydraulic pressure.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Turn off the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
(3) Turn on the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
(4) Carry out "hydraulic pressure test." (Refer to GROUP 22A - Hydraulic Pressure Test ).
Is the check result normal?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the valve body assembly (Refer to GROUP 22B - Front Transaxle ). Then go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Test the OBD-II drive cycle.
(1) Carry out a test drive with the drive cycle pattern. Refer to Diagnostic Function - OBD-II Drive Cycle - Pattern 10 .
(2) Check the DTC.
Is the DTC set?
Retry the troubleshooting.
The procedure is complete.
