DTC C2303: Right motor malfunction

DTC SET CONDITIONS
If the electric parking brake actuator (RH) drive circuit is open or short to ground, the DTC will be set.
noteWhen DTC C2305 is set, this DTC will not be set.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Damaged wiring harness or connector
    • Open or short to ground in the wires between the electric parking brake actuator (RH) and the electric parking brake ECU, or high resistance in a connector
  • Malfunction of the electric parking brake actuator assembly (RH)
  • Malfunction of the electric parking brake ECU

DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB992006: Extra Fine Probe
STEP 1. Measure the resistance at the electric parking brake ECU connector.
(1) Disconnect the electric parking brake ECU connector and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Measure the resistance between the MRR+ terminal and the MRR- terminal.
OK: 6 Ω or less.
(3) Measure the resistance between the MRR+ terminal and ground.
OK: No continuity.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Measure the resistance at the rear brake caliper assembly (RH) connector.
(1) Disconnect the rear brake caliper assembly (RH) connector and measure at the device side.
(2) Measure the resistance between terminal No.1 and terminal No.2.
OK: 6 Ω or less.
(3) Measure the resistance between terminal No.1 and ground.
OK: No continuity.
Is the check result normal?
The motor circuit may be open or short to ground. Repair the wiring harness wires or connectors between the electric parking brake ECU connector and the rear brake caliper assembly (RH) connector.
Replace the electric parking brake actuator assembly (RH) (Refer to ).

STEP 3. Check whether the DTC is set again.
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-III), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-III).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-III). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-III) ."
(2) Erase the DTC.
(3) Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
(4) Check if the DTC is set.
Is DTC No. C2303 set?
Replace the electric parking brake ECU (Refer to ).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
