Work Procedure
 
 
Description
When replacing the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit), the procedures of AFTER REPLACEMENT must be performed.
 
 
AFTER REPLACEMENT
After replacing the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit), the following items must be performed:
  • ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) programming
  • ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) configuration
  • Air bleeding of brake fluid
  • Adjust the neutral position of steering angle sensor
  • Calibration of the decel G sensor
  • Calibration of side G sensor
  • Adjustment of rear brake caliper initialization position
  • Change of system mode
  • Driving 3 km (1.8 mph) or more
noteSave the odmeter information of combination meter in ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit).
 
 
Work Procedure [After Replace ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit)]
1.PERFORM PROGRAMMING
With M.U.T.-III SE
Perform ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) programming according to the procedure of “ECU reprogramming" in M.U.T.-III SE User's Manual. Refer to M.U.T.-III SE User's Manual.
cautionDuring programming, maintain the following conditions:
  • Electric motor switch: ON
  • Electric parking brake: Apply
  • Electric load: OFF
  • Brake pedal: Not depressed
  • 12V battery voltage: 12 – 13.5 V (Check the value displayed on the M.U.T.-III SE screen.)

2.PERFORM NECESSARY WORK
  1. Perform configuration. Refer to Description.
  2. Perform air bleeding. Refer to Bleeding Brake System.
  3. Perform adjustment of steering angle sensor neutral position. Refer to DescriptionDescription.
  4. Perform calibration of decel G sensor. Refer to Work Procedure.
  5. Calibration of side G sensor. Refer to Work Procedure.
  6. Adjustment of rear brake caliper initialization position. Refer to Work Procedure.
  7. Perform the change of system mode. Refer to Work Procedure.
  8. Perform the driving 3 km (1.8 mph) or more.
    1. Raise the vehicle.
    2. Connect the scan tool.
    3. Drive the vehicle at 30 km/h (18.6 mph) or more until the driving distance displayed on the combination meter is reflected in the Service data No. 30: Odometer.
  9. Perform Diagnostic Trouble Code for “Read All DTCs".
  10. Erase the memory of Diagnostic Trouble Code results.
