Diagnosis Procedure

1.PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS

M.U.T.-III SE

Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON from OFF without depressing the brake pedal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Start the M.U.T.-III SE, then perform the self-diagnosis of "EBA".

Is DTC "C18E7-13" detected?

INSPECTION END

2.ASK(1)

Check whether the removal of the 12V battery or 12V battery terminal has been performed.

Does the operation performed?

3.ASK (2)

Check whether the brake system warning light has illuminated.

Have the light ever illuminated?

4.ASK (3)

Check whether any abnormality of the braking force (brake pedal operation) has been felt.

Have any abnormality felt?

5.PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS

M.U.T.-III SE

Connect the 12V battery terminal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON from OFF without depressing the brake pedal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Repeat Step 2 twice or more.
caution Wait for 5 seconds or more after the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is changed to OFF.
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF, then disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector.
Close all the doors including the back door, then confirm that the room light turns off and wait for 3 minutes or more outside the vehicle in that state.
caution While waiting, do not touch the vehicle.
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON from OFF without depressing the brake pedal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Start the M.U.T.-III SE, then erase the DTC set in "EBA".
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF, then disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector.
Close all the doors including the back door, then confirm that the room light turns off and wait for 3 minutes or more outside the vehicle in that state.
caution While waiting, do not touch the vehicle.
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON from OFF without depressing the brake pedal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Depress the brake pedal 100 mm (3.9in) or more, the keep that state for 5 seconds or more.
Release the brake pedal.
Start the M.U.T.-III SE, then perform the self-diagnosis of "EBA".

Is DTC "C18E7-13" detected?

Procedure is complete. (The 12V battery terminal has been disconnected with any door (including back door) opened after the electric motor switch is turned OFF, or the 12V battery terminal has been disconnected without waiting for 3 minutes or more after all doors (including back door) are closed, so the DTC "C18E7-13" has been detected.)

6.CHECK 12V BATTERY

Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF, then disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector.
Close all the doors including the back door, then confirm that the room light turns off and wait for 3 minutes or more outside the vehicle in that state.
caution While waiting, do not touch the vehicle.
Check the connection of the 12V battery terminal. Refer to Precautions for Removing Battery Terminal.Refer to Work Flow.

Is the inspection result normal?

Repair / replace harness or connector, securely lock the connector.

7.PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS

M.U.T.-III SE

Connect the 12V battery terminal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON from OFF without depressing the brake pedal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Repeat Step 2 twice or more.
caution Wait for 5 seconds or more after the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is changed to OFF.
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF, then disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector.
Close all the doors including the back door, then confirm that the room light turns off and wait for 3 minutes or more outside the vehicle in that state.
caution While waiting, do not touch the vehicle.
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON from OFF without depressing the brake pedal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Start the M.U.T.-III SE, then erase the DTC set in "EBA".
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF, then disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector.
Close all the doors including the back door, then confirm that the room light turns off and wait for 3 minutes or more outside the vehicle in that state.

Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON from OFF without depressing the brake pedal.

Depress the brake pedal 100 mm (3.9in) or more, the keep that state for 5 seconds or more.

Start the M.U.T.-III SE, then perform the self-diagnosis of "EBA".

8.Checking connector terminal

Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF, then disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector.
Close all the doors including the back door, then confirm that the room light turns off and wait for 3 minutes or more outside the vehicle in that state.
caution While waiting, do not touch the vehicle.
Check the connection of the 12V battery terminal. Refer to Precautions for Removing Battery Terminal.
Disconnect the electric driven intelligent brake unit wiring harness connector, and check that the pin terminal and its connection is normal.

Is the inspection result normal?

Repair / replace harness or connector, securely lock the connector.

9.PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS

M.U.T.-III SE

Connect the 12V battery terminal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON from OFF without depressing the brake pedal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Repeat Step 2 twice or more.
caution Wait for 5 seconds or more after the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is changed to OFF.
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF, then disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector.

10.Checking 12V battery power supply

Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF, then disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector.
Close all the doors including the back door, then confirm that the room light turns off and wait for 3 minutes or more outside the vehicle in that state.
caution While waiting, do not touch the vehicle.
Disconnect 12V battery negative terminal. Refer to Precautions for Removing Battery Terminal.
Disconnect the electric driven intelligent brake unit wiring harness connector.
Connect the battery negative terminal.
Measure the voltage between the following terminals of the electric driven intelligent brake unit wiring harness connector.

Is the inspection result normal?

11.Checking power supply to 12V battery circuit

Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF, then disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector.
Close all the doors including the back door, then confirm that the room light turns off and wait for 3 minutes or more outside the vehicle in that state.
caution While waiting, do not touch the vehicle.
Disconnect 12V battery negative terminal. Refer to Precautions for Removing Battery Terminal.
Check the 50A fusible link (No. 26)
Check the continuity and short circuit between the electric driven intelligent brake unit wiring harness connector (terminal No. 26) and the 50 A fusible link (No. 26).
Check the 10A fusible link (No. 42)
Check the continuity and short circuit between the electric driven intelligent brake unit wiring harness connector (terminal No. 7) and the 10 A fuse (No. 42).

Is the inspection result normal?

Diagnose the 12V battery power supply. Refer to Refer to POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

Repair / replace harness or connector, securely lock the connector.

12.PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS

M.U.T.-III SE

Connect the 12V battery terminal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON from OFF without depressing the brake pedal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Repeat Step 2 twice or more.
caution Wait for 5 seconds or more after the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is changed to OFF.
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF, then disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector.
Close all the doors including the back door, then confirm that the room light turns off and wait for 3 minutes or more outside the vehicle in that state.
caution While waiting, do not touch the vehicle.
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON from OFF without depressing the brake pedal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Start the M.U.T.-III SE, then erase the DTC set in "EBA".
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF, then disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector.
Close all the doors including the back door, then confirm that the room light turns off and wait for 3 minutes or more outside the vehicle in that state.

13.CHECK GROUND

Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF, then disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector.
Close all the doors including the back door, then confirm that the room light turns off and wait for 3 minutes or more outside the vehicle in that state.
caution While waiting, do not touch the vehicle.
Disconnect 12V battery negative terminal. Precautions for Removing Battery Terminal.
Disconnect the electric driven intelligent brake unit wiring harness connector.
Check the continuity between the electric driven intelligent brake unit and body ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

Repair / replace harness or connector, securely lock the connector.

14.PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS

M.U.T.-III SE

Connect the 12V battery terminal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON from OFF without depressing the brake pedal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Repeat Step 2 twice or more.
caution Wait for 5 seconds or more after the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is changed to OFF.
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF, then disconnect the M.U.T.-III SE from the data link connector.
Close all the doors including the back door, then confirm that the room light turns off and wait for 3 minutes or more outside the vehicle in that state.

Connect the battery negative terminal.
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON from OFF without depressing the brake pedal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Repeat Step 3 twice or more.
caution Wait for 5 seconds or more after the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is changed to OFF.
Start the M.U.T.-III SE, then select "EBA" and "Data List" in order.
Check "iB Power Supply Battery" and "iB Power Supply ECU". (Refer to Reference Value ).

Is the inspection result normal?

Replace the electric driven intelligent brake unit. Refer to Removal and installation

16.PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS

Connect the 12V battery terminal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON from OFF without depressing the brake pedal.
caution Do not set the vehicle to the READY status.
Repeat Step 2 twice or more.

Replace the electric driven intelligent brake unit. Refer to Removal and installation

18.PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS
