DTC No. P1AA1-4B: DCDC temperature failure
 
 
 
 
TROUBLE JUDGMENT
Check Condition
  • All the time during operation
Judgment Criterion
  • The high temperature malfunction inside the DC-DC converter is detected.
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of the PHEV-ECU system
  • Malfunction of the IPDM E/R system
  • Malfunction of the radiator fan system
  • Malfunction of the EV water cooling system
  • Malfunction of the On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB992744: Vehicle communication interface-Lite (V.C.I.-Lite)
  • MB992745: V.C.I.-Lite main harness A
  • MB992747: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable short
  • MB992748: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable long
1.M.U.T.-IIISE data list
Check the following DC-DC convereter data list.
  • Item No. 110: DCDC INV temperature 1
  • Item No. 120: DCDC rectification temperature
  • Item No. 130: DCDC INV temperature 2
OK: Less than 133°C (271°F)
  • Item No. 170: DCDC inside temperature
OK: Less than 90°C (194°F)
Is the check result normal?
 
2.M.U.T.-IIISE other system DTC
Check whether the PHEV-ECU sets the DTC.
  • DTC No. P3123-15 Water Pump monitor circuit-High
  • DTC No. P3124-11 Water Pump monitor circuit-Low
  • DTC No. P3125-01 Water Pump Function Monitor A
  • DTC No. P3126-01 Water Pump Function Monitor B
  • DTC No. P3127-9F Water Pump Function Monitor C
  • DTC No. P3128-9E Water Pump Function Monitor D
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot the set DTCs (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART) .
 
3.M.U.T.-IIISE other system DTC
Check whether the PHEV-ECU sets the DTC related to the radiator fan.
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot the set DTC (Refer to PHEV-ECU – DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART).
 
4.Check of the EV water cooling system
Check the EV water cooling system (Refer to EV system overheating (water cooling system)).
Is the check result normal?
Repair the faulty part.
 
5.Check whether the DTC is set again.
(1) Erase the set DTC.
(2) Perform the normal charging.
(3) Check whether the DTC is set again.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter (Refer to ON BOARD CHARGER (OBC) &DC-DC CONVERTER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to General Information - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS).
