Inspection Procedure 4: EV system overheating (water cooling system)

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
The EV cooling system (water cooling system), power drive unit, rear motor assembly or On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter is suspected.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of the EV water cooling system (EV coolant, water cooling system line)
  • Malfunction of the electric water pump
  • Malfunction of the EV radiator
  • Malfunction of the EV radiator condenser tank
  • Malfunction of the power drive unit
  • Malfunction of the rear motor assembly (with built-in REMCU)
  • Malfunction of the On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter

DIAGNOSIS
1.EV coolant concentration check
Check the EV coolant concentration (Refer to EV COOLANT CONCENTRATION CHECK).
Is the check result normal?
Change the EV coolant so that there is no abnormality (Refer to EV COOLANT CHANGE).

2.EV coolant level check
Check the EV coolant level (Refer to EV COOLANT CHECK).
Is the check result normal?

3.Check of leakage in EV water cooling system
Check the EV coolant leakage (Refer to EV COOLANT LEAK CHECK).
Is the check result normal?
Refill the EV coolant (Refer to EV COOLANT CHECK). Then go to .
Determine the faulty part and repair or replace it.

4.EV water cooling system line check
Visually check that the pipes and hoses for EV water cooling system are not broken or damaged.
Is the check result normal?
The procedure is complete.
Replace the faulty part.
