Other Monitor (There is no temporary DTC set in memory for the item monitored below)
  • Not applicable
Sensor (The sensor below is determined to be normal)
  • Rear motor current sensor
  • Rear motor coil temperature sensor

DTC SET CONDITIONS
Logic Flow Chart
Check Condition
  • REMCU power supply voltage is 8.0 volts or more.
  • The capacitor voltage is between 200.0 volts and 410.0 volts.
  • Rear motor torque is 0 N·m
  • The vehicle status is in Propulsion system active.
Judgment Criterion
  • The number of times that the current-high switch is ON (Malfunction status is detected when actual rear motor current is 207 amperes or less) is three times or more.

OBD-II DRIVE CYCLE PATTERN

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of the rear motor assembly (malfunction of the REMCU, malfunction of the motor)
  • Malfunction of the PHEV-ECU system (malfunction of the electric water pump)
  • Malfunction of the EV water cooling system
  • Malfunction of the radiator fan system
noteThe DTC may be set due to the 12V battery runout by leaving the vehicle with the power supply mode of the electric motor switch in ON condition.

DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB992744: Vehicle communication interface-Lite (V.C.I.-Lite)
  • MB992745: V.C.I.-Lite main harness A
  • MB992747: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable short
  • MB992748: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable long
1.M.U.T.-IIISE other DTC check
Check whether the REMCU sets the following DTCs.
  • DTC No. P0A35-00 Rear drive motor coil1 temperature-high
  • DTC No. P30EF-98 Rear drive motor coil2 temperature-high
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot the set DTC (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART). Then,

2.M.U.T.-IIISE other system DTC
Check whether the PHEV-ECU sets the following DTC.
  • DTC No. P3123-15 Water Pump monitor circuit-High
  • DTC No. P3124-11 Water Pump monitor circuit-Low
  • DTC No. P3125-01 Water Pump Function Monitor A
  • DTC No. P3126-01 Water Pump Function Monitor B
  • DTC No. P3127-9F Water Pump Function Monitor C
  • DTC No. P3128-9E Water Pump Function Monitor D
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot the set DTCs (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART). Then,

3.M.U.T.-IIISE other system DTC
Check whether the PHEV-ECU sets the DTC related to the radiator fan.
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot the set DTC (Refer to PHEV-ECU – DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART). Then,

4.Check of the EV water cooling system
Check the EV water cooling system (Refer to EV COOLANT LEAK CHECK).
Is the check result normal?
Repair or replace the faulty part. Then,

5.Test the OBD-II drive cycle.
(1) Carry out a test drive with the drive cycle pattern. Refer to OBD-II Drive Cycle OBD-II DRIVE CYCLE.
(2) Check the DTC.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the rear motor assembly (Refer to MOTOR (ELECTRIC MOTOR UNIT) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION). Then,
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to General Information - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS).

6.Test the OBD-II drive cycle.
(1) Carry out a test drive with the drive cycle pattern. Refer to OBD-II Drive Cycle OBD-II DRIVE CYCLE.
(2) Check the DTC.
Is the DTC set?
Retry the troubleshooting.
The procedure is complete.
