REMOVAL SERVICE POINTS

<<A>> FUEL MAIN PIPE DISCONNECTION
1. Insert a flat-tip screwdriver [6 mm (0.23 inch) wide and 1 mm (0.03 inch) thick] into the retainer of the fuel main pipe connector.
2. Turn the flat-tip screwdriver inserted into the retainer by 90 degrees to push up the retainer and unlock the fuel main pipe connector.
cautionWhen pushing up the retainer of the fuel main pipe connector, pay attention to avoid damage to the retainer.

<<B>> FUEL PUMP BRACKET PLATE REMOVAL
Remove the fuel pump bracket plate. (Refer to Fuel Supply - On-Vehicle Service, Fuel Tank Pump and Gauge Assembly Replacement FUEL PUMP MODULE REPLACEMENT)

<<C>> FUEL TANK PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY/FUEL TANK SUCTION HOSE / FUEL TANK CONNECTOR REMOVAL
caution
  • Pay attention not to damage the gauge unit and the float of fuel tank pump and gauge assembly when removing it from the fuel tank.
  • When removing the fuel tank suction hose, the fuel tank connector (cannot be reused) remains on the fuel tank pump and gauge assembly side. Use a new fuel tank connector during installation.
  • While removing the fuel tank pump and gauge assembly from the fuel tank, disconnect the fuel tank suction hose from the fuel tank pump and gauge assembly to remove the fuel tank pump and gauge assembly from the fuel tank.
  • The next procedure is to release the lock of the fuel tank suction hose connector.
    1. Press down on the part of the fuel tank connector indicated by the arrow in the illustration to release the lock.

>>A<< FUEL TANK CONNECTOR / FUEL TANK SUCTION HOSE REMOVAL/FUEL TANK PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY
caution
  • When installing the fuel tank pump and gauge assembly into the fuel tank from the service hole, be careful not to damage the gauge unit and the float. In addition, be careful that the float does not catch the fuel tank suction hose inside the fuel tank.
  • When installing the fuel pump module to the fuel tank, check that the gauge moving area moves smoothly.
  • While inserting the fuel tank pump and gauge assembly into the fuel tank, connect the fuel tank suction hose to the fuel pump module to install the fuel tank pump and gauge assembly to the fuel tank.
  • Fuel tank suction hose installation
    1. Assemble the new fuel tank connector to the connector of the fuel tank suction hose.
    2. Connect the fuel tank suction hose connector with the fuel tank connector inserted.

>>B<< FUEL PUMP BRACKET PLATE INSTALLATION
Install the fuel pump bracket plate. (Refer to Fuel Supply - On-Vehicle Service, Fuel Tank Pump and Gauge Assembly Replacement FUEL PUMP MODULE REPLACEMENT)

>>C<< FUEL MAIN PIPE CONNECTION
1. Pull up the retainer of fuel main pipe to unlock before installing.
2. Install the fuel main pipe to the fuel tank pump and gauge assembly securely and push in the retainer of the fuel main pipe connector to lock the fuel main pipe and fuel tank pump and gauge assembly and gauge assembly.
caution
  • When pushing in the retainer of the fuel main pipe connector, pay attention to avoid damage to the retainer.
  • After the installation of the fuel high-pressure hose, slightly pull the fuel high-pressure hose to check that it is connected securely. At this time, also check that there is approximately 1 mm (0.03 inch) play.
