REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

dangerWhen servicing the high voltage system parts, always shut off the high voltage by removing the service plug (Refer to GROUP 54Da - Precautions on how to use the high-voltage vehicle ).
Pre-removal and Post-installation operation
  • Refrigerant Draining and Refilling (Refer to Charging and Discharging ).
  • Air Cleaner Assembly Removal and Installation (Refer to GROUP 15 - Air Cleaner ).
  • Engine Room Side Cover, Engine Room Under Cover A, B Removal and Installation (Refer to GROUP 51 - Under Cover ).

caution
  • Use the plug which is not breathable because A/C compressor oil or receiver have high hygroscopicity.
  • For the compressor oil and installation oil for the piping O-ring, use the oil MA68EV or Ze-GLES RB68 dedicated for the A/C compressor EV24AN5. If an oil other then the MA68EV or Ze-GLES RB68 is used, even if it is only a small amount, the electric insulation is considerably deteriorated and a leakage may occur.
Plug the hose nipple removed to prevent the entry of dust and dirt.

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT

>>A<< A/C COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION
When installing the new A/C compressor, install the A/C compressor after adjusting the oil volume as follows.
1. Measure the oil level in the removed A/C compressor assembly. [X cm3 (X fl.oz) ]
2. Drain the compressor oil from a new A/C compressor assembly and dispose of it. The compressor oil may absorb humidity, which will deteriorate electrical insulation performance.
3. Calculate the amount of oil [Y cm3 (Y fl.oz) ] according to the formulae below. Refill that amount of the compressor oil (supplied as a container) into the new A/C compressor assembly
Xcm3+20cm3 = Y cm3 (X fl.oz - 0.7X fl.oz = Y fl.oz)
4. Tighten the A/C compressor assembly mounting bolts to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 23 ± 6 N·m (17 ± 4 ft-lb)
