cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the communication circuit is normal.

MONITOR EXECUTION
  • Continuous

MONITOR EXECUTION CONDITIONS (Other monitor and Sensor)
Other Monitor (There is no temporary DTC set in memory for the item monitored below)
  • EV CAN monitor
  • Battery CAN monitor
  • Main drive lithium-ion battery voltage sensor circuit monitor
  • Main drive lithium-ion battery cell voltage monitor
  • Battery energy control module (sub BMU) monitor
Sensor (The sensor below is determined to be normal)
  • Main drive lithium-ion battery current sensor monitor
  • Main drive lithium-ion battery temperature sensor monitor

DTC SET CONDITIONS
Logic Flow Chart
Check Conditions
  • When the vehicle is in the charging mode or is being charged
  • Time after above conditions satisfy is more than 3,600 seconds.
  • Main drive lithium-ion battery current is less than 1 ampere.
  • Main drive lithium-ion battery energy level is 80%.
  • Main drive lithium-ion battery temperature minimum value is more than 25°C (77°F).
  • Time after above conditions satisfy is 0 second to 300 seconds.
  • Main drive lithium-ion battery temperature minimum value is 15°C (59°F) to 25°C (77°F).
  • Time after above conditions satisfy is 0 second to 360 seconds.
  • Main drive lithium-ion battery temperature minimum value is 10°C (50°F) to 15°C (59°F).
  • Time after above conditions satisfy is 0 second to 420 seconds.
Judgment Criterion
  • The difference between the value of average battery cell internal resistance and the value of battery cell internal resistance changes to 0.0066 ohms or more and the state continues for 5 seconds.

OBD-II DRIVE CYCLE PATTERN
  • Refer to OBD-II Drive Cycle - Pattern 4 .

FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION
  • Not available

PROBABLE CAUSE
  • The module (battery cell, CMU) in the main drive lithium-ion battery is failed.

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the DTC is set.
(1) Set scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) to the data list for item 10 Module Minimum Temperature (Refer to ). If the lowest module temperature is less than or equal to 10°C (50°F), charge and discharge the main drive lithium-ion battery. Increase the module temperature.
(2) Set scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) to the data list for item 1 Charge state (Control) (Refer to ). If the value is more than or equal to 80%, discharge it to be less than or equal to 70%.
(3) Erase the DTC.
(4) Normal charge it so that the value shown on the data list item 1 Charge state (Control) (Refer to ) can become more than or equal to 80%.
Is the DTC set?
Remove the battery tray cover (Refer to ). Replace the module corresponding to the diagnostic trouble code being set. Then, assemble the main drive lithium-ion battery assembly (Refer to ). Then go to Step 2.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).

STEP 2. Test the OBD-II drive cycle.
(1) Carry out a test drive with the drive cycle pattern. Refer to OBD-II Drive Cycle - Pattern 4 .
(2) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Retry the troubleshooting.
The inspection is complete.
