INSPECTION PROCEDURE 24: Energy regeneration ratio cannot be changed by using the regenerative braking level selector (paddle type)
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
When the energy regeneration level (B0 to B5) does not change by operating the regenerative braking level selector (paddle type), the regenerative braking level selector (paddle type) or the PHEV-ECU is suspected.
PROBABLE CAUSES
The regenerative braking level selector (paddle type) fails
Damaged harness or connector
Malfunction of the PHEV-ECU
DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools
MB991223: Wiring harness set
MB992006: Extra fine probe
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check the data list. <PHEV-ECU>
Check that the following service data display contents are normal (Refer to ).
Item No.94: Paddle switch (+)
Check condition
Normal condition
The paddle lever (+) is pulled towards you with the power supply mode of the electric motor switch turned on.
ON
The paddle lever (+) is NOT pulled towards you with the power supply mode of the electric motor switch turned on.
OFF
Item No.95: Paddle switch (-)
Check condition
Normal condition
The paddle lever (-) is pulled towards you with the power supply mode of the electric motor switch turned on.
ON
The paddle lever (-) is NOT pulled towards you with the power supply mode of the electric motor switch turned on.
OFF
Is the check result normal?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
