DTC C202A: Pump motor drive long time (VP) DTC C202B: Vacuum PRS.abnormal loss (VP) DTC C202C: Pressure long time low (VP)
caution
Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
note
When the DTC is set under the following conditions, it does indicate a malfunction. Erase the DTC and then complete the check.
DTCs C202A, C202B, C202C: Bleeding is carried out with the system activated [READY (ready to drive) illuminates and the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is at ACC].
DTC C202B: The brake pedal is depressed gently to maintain a vehicle speed of approximately 6 km/h (3.7 mph) or less.
DTC SET CONDITIONS
The PHEV-ECU sets the DTCs below when the brake vacuum pressure system fails.
DTC C202A
The brake electric vacuum pump motor is energized for a certain period or more with the brake pedal not depressed.
DTC C202B
The brake vacuum decreases by a certain amount with the brake pedal not depressed.
DTC C202C
The brake vacuum decreases for a certain period (this DTC is set when the vacuum warning tone alarm sounds for a certain period).
PROBABLE CAUSES
Malfunction of vacuum line.
Malfunction of the check valve.
Malfunction of the brake booster.
Malfunction of the brake electric vacuum pump.
Malfunction of the brake electric vacuum pump relay box.
Malfunction of the brake booster vacuum sensor.
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the other DTC is set.
Check whether another DTC, which is related to the brake vacuum generating system, is set (Refer to ).
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot for the relevant DTC.
Go to Step 2.
STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check the data list. <ASC-ECU>
Check that the following data list display contents are normal (Refer to GROUP 35C - Diagnosis, Data List Reference Table ).
