DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), diagnose the CAN bus line.
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn off the power supply mode of the electric motor switch before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Press the electric motor switch to turn on the power supply mode.
(3) Diagnose the CAN bus line.
(4) Press the electric motor switch to turn off the power supply mode.
Is the CAN bus line found to be normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).

STEP 2. Confirm the option coding.
Confirm whether the option coding corresponds to an actual vehicle equipment. For how to confirm, refer to .
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Configure the option coding again.

STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the smartphone link display audio DTC.
Check if DTC is set in the smartphone link display audio.
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot the smartphone link display audio (Refer to ).
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the other system DTC.
Check if a DTC, which relates to CAN communication-linked systems below, is set.
  • ETACS-ECU
    • DTC No.U0245: NAVI/DISP.AUDIO CAN timeout
Is the DTC set?
Go to Step 5.
Go to Step 6.

STEP 5. Recheck for DTC.
Check again if the DTC is set in the EV remote-ECU.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Press the electric motor switch to turn the power supply mode from "OFF" to "ON."
(3) Check if DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the smartphone link display audio (Refer to ).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction such as a poor connection or open circuit in the CAN bus lines between the smartphone link display audio and the EV remote-ECU (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

STEP 6. Recheck for DTC.
Check again if the DTC is set in the EV remote-ECU.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Press the electric motor switch to turn the power supply mode from "OFF" to "ON."
(3) Check if DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the EV remote-ECU (Refer to ).
