DTC B1132: START circuit fail

cautionWhen replacing the ECU, always check that the communication circuit is normal.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
When a short circuit (short to power supply) of starter setting circuit system is detected, or when an error to the starter starting circuit system is judged, OSS-ECU stores DTC B1132. At the same time, OSS-ECU displays the power supply system error warning screen to the multi information display of the combination meter.

DTC SET CONDITION
Check Conditions
  • After OSS-ECU activation
Judgment Criterion
  • When the following conditions are met:
    1. When the starter setting signal is OFF, the electric motor unit start signal is received from PHEV-ECU.
    2. When the starter setting signal is OFF, the electric motor unit start signal is received from ETACS-ECU.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Damaged wiring harness or connector (short to power supply in ST line, STO line or ST2 line)
  • Malfunction of PHEV-ECU
  • ETACS-ECU malfunction
  • Malfunction of OSS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check other system data list
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to the OFF before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) After performing the forced power supply output (refer to forced power supply output procedure ) "IG-ON".
(3) Check the PHEV-ECU data list.
  • Item No. 2: Power SW(ST) signal (Refer to GROUP 54Da - Troubleshooting, Service Data Reference Table .)
(4) Turn the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Carry out the troubleshooting for the DTC B1131 (Refer to diagnostic trouble code chart ).

STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check data list.
Check the ASC-ECU data list.
  • Item No. 87: Ignition switch (input value) (GROUP 35C, ASC-ECU - Diagnosis .)
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Replace the ETACS-ECU.

STEP 3. Recheck for diagnostic trouble code
Check again if the DTC is set in the KOS-ECU.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Turn the power supply mode of the electric motor switch from OFF to ON.
(3) Check if DTC is set.
(4) Turn the power supply mode of the electric motor switch from ON to OFF.
Is the diagnostic trouble code set?
: Replace the PHEV-ECU and register the VIN (Refer to GROUP 54Da, PHEV-ECU - PHEV-ECU ).
: Replace the OSS-ECU and register the VIN (Refer to ).
: Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
