Inspection Procedure 4: Audio illuminations does not work normally.
 
 
cautionBefore replacing the multivision display ensure that the power supply circuit, the ground circuit and the communication circuit are normal.
 
 
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
If the taillights illuminate, illumination signal is sent from the A/C-ECU to the multivision display. This switches the illumination of the multivision display from day mode to night mode. If the mode is switched, the illumination signal line, the A/C-ECU or the multivision display may be defective.
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • The multivision display may be defective
  • The heater control assembly (A/C-ECU) may be defective
  • The wiring harness or connectors may have loose, corroded, or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Check the multivision display setting.
(1) Start the multivision display.
(2) On the "Home" screen, to select "Day/Night Setting."
Is it set to "Auto"?
Go to Step 2.
Set "Day/Night Setting" to "Auto."
 
STEP 2. Check the illumination.
When the taillight are turned on, check whether the illumination other than the multivision display is turned on.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Check the rear combination light troubleshooting (Refer to ).
 
STEP 3. Check of short to power supply, short to ground and open circuit in ILL+ line between multivision display connector and A/C-ECU connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
 
STEP 4. Retest the system.
When the taillights illuminate, check that the illumination of the multivision display is work normally.
Is the check result normal?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the multivision display (Refer to ).
