DTC B1A25: Transponder ID unmatched
 
 
caution
  • When DTC No. B1A25 is set, be sure to diagnose the CAN bus line.
  • When replacing the ECU, always check that the communication circuit is normal.
 
 
DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION
Diagnostic trouble code No. B1A25 is set when the ETACS-ECU or the transponder fails.
 
 
TROUBLE JUDGMENT
The ETACS-ECU determines that the system is defective when the ETACS-ECU or the transponder fails with the ignition switch ON.
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • The CAN bus line may be defective
  • The ignition key may be defective
  • The ETACS-ECU may be defective
  • The transponder may be defective
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), diagnose the CAN bus line
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-III), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-III).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-III). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-III) ."
(2) Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(3) Diagnose the CAN bus line.
(4) Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
Is the CAN bus line found to be normal?
Go to Step 2
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Diagnosis ).
 
STEP 2. Register the key ID and recheck the diagnostic trouble code.
Register the key ID of the ignition key by which the DTC is set (Refer to ), and recheck if the DTC is set.
(1) Register the ignition key which is used when detect the DTC.
(2) Remove the ignition key from the cylinder and then insert the ignition key again.
(3) After 2 or 3 seconds later from inserting the key, then turn the ignition ON.
(4) Check if the DTC is set?
Is the DTC set?
Go to Step 3
The diagnosis is complete.
 
STEP 3. Replace the ignition key with a new one, and recheck the diagnostic trouble code.
Replace the ignition key by which the DTC is set with a new one, register the key ID of the new key, (refer to ), and recheck if the DTC is set.
(1) Replace the ignition key, which the DTC indicates, with a new one. Then register it.
(2) Clear the DTC.
(3) Remove the ignition key from the cylinder and then insert the ignition key again.
(4) Wait for a few seconds, and then turn the ignition ON.
(5) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace ETACS-ECU and register the ID codes (Refer to ).
The diagnosis is complete.
