DTC P1796: Idle-N control function failure
 
 
 
 
DESCRIPTIONS OF MONITOR METHODS
With the idle-N control, the status that the "actual slip speed - target slip speed" is faster than 300 r/min continues for 10 seconds.
 
 
MONITOR EXECUTION
  • Transmission range: D
  • Engine speed: less than 910 r/min
  • Brake pedal: Depressed
 
 
MONITOR EXECUTION CONDITIONS (OTHER MONITOR AND SENSOR)
Other Monitor (There is no temporary DTC stored in memory for the item monitored below)
  • Not applicable
Sensor (The sensor below is determined to be normal)
  • Not applicable

Check Conditions
  • Transmission range: D
  • Engine speed: less than 910 r/min
  • Brake pedal: Depressed
Judgment Criteria
  • Actual input shaft speed - Target shaft speed: 300 rpm or more*. (10 seconds)
    note*: Show absolute value
 
 
OBD-II DRIVE CYCLE PATTERN
Idle neutral control is active.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of the CAN circuit
  • When DTC P0973, P0974: Low clutch linear solenoid valve system is set
  • When DTC P0731: 1st gear incorrect ratio is set
  • Malfunction of the TCM

 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) CAN bus diagnostics.
Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III) to perform the CAN bus diagnosis.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).
 
STEP 2. Check the DTC.
Check the ASC DTC. (Refer to GROUP 35C - Troubleshooting ).
Is the DTC set?
Check and repair the relevant DTC system.
Go to Step 3.
 
STEP 3. Perform the troubleshooting for DTC No. P0753: low clutch linear solenoid valve and DTC No. P0731: 1st gear incorrect ratio.
Check whether the DTC is set again.
Is DTC No.P1796 set?
Replace the TCM.
This diagnosis is complete.
