Inspection Procedure 9: It cannot communicate with a smartphone.
 
 
caution
  • Park the vehicle in an open area where radio wave is not shielded.
  • When replacing the ECU, always check that the communication circuit is normal.
 
 
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
If it cannot communicate with a smartphone., there is a possibility that the vehicle is in a place not suitable for communication, a defect in the GNSS/TEL antenna assembly, a detect in the mobile communication device (Smartphone) or a defect in the TCU.
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • The vehicle is in a place not suitable for communication
  • The GNSS/TEL antenna assembly may be defective
  • The TEL antenna assembly may be defective
  • The mobile communication device (Smartphone) may be defective
  • The TCU may be defective
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Confirm that the vehicle is parked properly.
Check that the vehicle is parked in an open area.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Move the vehicle to an open area. Then go to Step 2.
 
STEP 2. Check test mode.
Execute "Test report" in the test mode (Refer to ).
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Troubleshoot the TCU. Refer to Inspection Procedure 8 "SOS emergency assist/information assist does not connected (It can start the calling to the telematics call center)" .
 
STEP 3. Retest the system.
Is the check result normal?
The procedure is complete.
Since it is a problem of the radio wave environment or the mobile communication device (Smartphone), and not a failure of the TCU, contact the telematics call center to report the vehicle state (Refer to "USER TROUBLESHOOTING FLOW" ).
