Inspection Procedure 6: A camera image is displayed when the selector lever is moved to the R position, but it is not switched when the camera switch is pressed.
 
 
 
 
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
A camera image is displayed when the selector lever is moved to the R position, but it is not switched when the camera switch is pressed. In this case, the camera input signal system may be defective.
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • The camera-ECU may be defective
  • The camera switch (steering wheel remote control switch) be defective
  • The CAN bus be defective
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), diagnose CAN bus line.

cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(3) Diagnose the CAN bus line.
(4) Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
Is the CAN bus line found to be normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting - CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ).
 
STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check data list.
Using the camera-ECU service data.
  • Operate the camera switch.

STEP 3. Check the operation of the audio remote control switch.
Check that the audio remote control switch operation normally.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Troubleshoot the audio remote control switch (Refer to ).
 
STEP 4. Check the camera switch (steering wheel remote control switch).
Check the camera switch (Refer to ).
Is the check result normal?
Replace the multivision display.
Replace the steering wheel remote control switch.
 
STEP 5. Retest the system.
Is the check result normal?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the camera-ECU (Refer to ).
