OPERATION
AWC-ECU power supply is provided from the battery via ETACS-ECU.

DTC SET CONDITIONS
This DTC is set when the AWC-ECU power supply voltage and the actuator power supply voltage are 18 V or more.

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of charging system
  • Loose battery terminal
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
  • Malfunction of AWC-ECU
  • ETACS-ECU malfunction

DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB992006: Extra fine probe
STEP 1. Scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) other system DTC.
Check the ETACS DTC (Refer to GROUP 54A - Diagnosis, Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart ).
Is the DTC set?
Perform the relevant troubleshooting.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Battery terminal check.
Check that the battery terminal is not loose.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Securely install the battery terminal. Then go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check the charging system.
Refer to GROUP 16 - Charging System .
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Repair or replace the charging system component(s).

STEP 4. Check the battery.
Refer to GROUP 54A - Battery Test .
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Replace the battery. Then go to Step 5.

STEP 5. Voltage measurement at AWC-ECU connector.
Disconnect the connector, and measure the voltage between AWC-ECU connector terminal BATT and ground at the wiring harness side.
OK: System voltage
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 8.
Go to Step 6.

STEP 6. Check of short circuit in BATT line between AWC-ECU connector and ETACS-ECU connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 7.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 7. Scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) data list.
Check the following data list (Refer to ).
Item No.48: Battery voltage
Is the check result normal?
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the ETACS-ECU (Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS-ECU ).

STEP 8. Scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) data list.
Check the following data list (Refer to ).
Item No.48: Battery voltage
Is the check result normal?
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the AWC-ECU (Refer to ).
