Inspection Procedure 3: Adaptive Cruise Control cannot be Set (No Response SET - Switch and RES + Switch is Pressed).

cautionWhen the ACC/FCM-ECU is replaced, calibrate the radar (refer to ).

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
  • The conditions for initiating the adaptive cruise control (ACC) system may not be satisfied.
  • The fail-safe function is probably cancelling ACC system. In this case, checking the DFI and MFI system, ASC system and electric parking brake system DTC.

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of the cruise control switch (integrated with SET -, RES + switch)
  • Malfunction of the ECM
  • Malfunction of the ACC/FCM-ECU
  • Malfunction of the DFI and MFI system
  • Malfunction of the ASC system
  • Malfunction of the electric parking brake system

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check the DFI and MFI system data list.
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(3) Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check the DFI and MFI system data list (Refer to GROUP 13A - Diagnosis, Data List Reference Table ).
  • Item No.91: Resume switch
  • Item No.92: Set switch
(4) Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.

Check the following data list (Refer to ).
  • Item No.22: ACC switch state
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Replace the ACC/FCM-ECU (Refer to ).

STEP 4. Check the symptom.
When the ACC start conditions are satisfied, confirm whether a trouble symptom reappears or not (For details, refer to the relevant Technical Information Manual - GROUP 17 - Adaptive Cruise Control System).
Can adaptive cruise control be set?
It can be assumed that this malfunction is intermittent (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the ACC/FCM-ECU (Refer to ).
