Diagnosis Procedure
1.CHECK ENCODER SIGNAL
  1. Turn the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON.
  2. Select “Power liftgate” using scan tool (M.U.T.-III SE).
  3. Select “Spindle sensor RH” in “Data List” mode.
  4. Check that the function operates normally according to the following conditions.

Is the inspection result normal?
Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent IncidentHOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS.

2.CHECK ENCODER CIRCUIT
  1. Disconnect automatic back door control unit connector, spindle unit RH connector and spindle unit RH connector.
  2. Check voltage between automatic back door control unit harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

Repair or replace harness.
 
3.REPLACE SPINDLE UNIT RH
Replace spindle unit RH. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION.
Is the inspection result normal?
INSPECTION END
Replace automatic back door control unit. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION.
