DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB992744: Vehicle communication interface-Lite (V.C.I.-Lite)
  • MB992745: V.C.I.-Lite main harness A
  • MB992747: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable short
  • MB992748: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable long
  • MB991223: Wiring harness set
  • MB992006: Extra fine probe
1.Check of the wiring harness between the EV home & quick charger cable and body ground (quick charging inlet temperature sensor No. 2 ground line)
Check the following wiring harness for open circuit.
  • Open circuit between the EV home & quick charger cable connector (No. 7 terminal) and body ground
Is the check result normal?
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

2.Check of the wiring harness between the On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter and EV home & quick charger cable (quick charging inlet temperature sensor No. 2 signal line)
Check the following wiring harness for open circuit.
  • Open circuit between the On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter connector (No. 4 terminal) and EV home & quick charger cable connector (No. 2 terminal)
Is the check result normal?
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

3.Check of the wiring harness between the On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter and EV home & quick charger cable (quick charging inlet temperature sensor No. 2 signal line)
(1) Disconnect the On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter connector (B532), and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON (READY indicator: OFF).
(3) Measure the voltage between the following terminals.
  • Voltage between the On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter connector (No. 4 terminal) and body ground
OK: 1 V or less
Is the check result normal?
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

4.Check of the quick charging inlet temperature sensor No. 2
Check the quick charging inlet temperature sensor No. 2 (Refer to CHECK OF QUICK CHARGING INLET ASSEMBLY TEMPERATURE SENSOR) .
Is the check result normal?
Replace the EV home & quick charger cable (Refer to EV HOME & QUICK CHARGER CABLE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION).

5.Check whether the DTC is set again.
(1) Erase the set DTC.
(2) Perform quick charging (external power supplly).
(3) Check whether the DTC is set again.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the On Board Charger (OBC)/DC-DC converter (Refer to ON BOARD CHARGER (OBC) &DC-DC CONVERTER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to General Information - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS).
