DTC No. P1A2C-97 Fan Control Module 2 Blocked

DESCRIPTIONS OF MONITOR METHODS
This DTC is set when the radiator fan cannot rotate due to a malfunction (such as a rag stucked in fan blade). To prevent the unintended failure detection due to snow and ice, this DTC is monitored only in the engine control module enablement condition. Therefore, this DTC is not monitored under cold conditions.
The PHEV-ECU receives signals from both the radiator fan and engine control module (ECM). The PHEV-ECU monitors this DTC only when the following engine control module (ECM) enablement condition is met.
<Engine control module (ECM) enablement condition>
  • The power supply mode of the electric motor switch is OFF for more than 6 hours.
  • The engine coolant temperature is 12°C (54°F) or more.
  • The intake air temperature is 15°C (59°F) or more.

MONITOR EXECUTION
Continuous

Logic Flow Chart
Check Condition
  • The PHEV-ECU power supply voltage is 9.0 V or more.
  • The soaking time is more than 6 hours.
  • The intake air temperature is 15°C (59°F) or more.
  • The engine coolant temperature is 12°C (54°F) or more.
  • The power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON.
Judgment Criterion
  • The blocking signal from the radiator fan (LH) is detected for 0.2 second.

1.M.U.T.-IIISE other DTC check
Check whether the DTC No. U1E06-87 is set.
Is the DTC No. U1E06-87 set?
Troubleshoot the set DTC. Then,

2.Test the OBD-II drive cycle.
(1) Carry out a test drive with the drive cycle pattern. Refer to OBD-II Drive Cycle OBD-II DRIVE CYCLE.
(2) Check the DTC.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the blower assembly (Refer to Engine Cooling – Radiator RADIATOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION). Then,

3.Test the OBD-II drive cycle.
(1) Carry out a test drive with the drive cycle pattern. Refer to OBD-II Drive Cycle OBD-II DRIVE CYCLE.
(2) Check the DTC.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the PHEV-ECU (Refer to PHEV-ECU REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION). Then,
The procedure is complete.

4.Test the OBD-II drive cycle.
(1) Carry out a test drive with the drive cycle pattern. Refer to OBD-II Drive Cycle OBD-II DRIVE CYCLE.
(2) Check the DTC.
Is the DTC set?
