DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB992744: Vehicle communication interface-Lite (V.C.I.-Lite)
  • MB992745: V.C.I.-Lite main harness A
  • MB992747: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable short
  • MB992748: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable long
  • MB991223: Wiring harness set
  • MB992006: Extra fine probe
1.Check of continuity at EV home & quick charger cable connector (charge connector lock actuator connector) (terminal No. 1)
(1) Disconnect the EV home & quick charger cable connector (charge connector lock actuator connector) (B544), and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Check the continuity between the EV home & quick charger cable connector (charge connector lock actuator connector) (B544) (terminal No. 1) and body ground.
OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)
Is the check result normal?
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

2.Voltage measurement at EV home & quick charger cable connector (charge connector lock actuator connector) (terminal No. 2)
(1) Disconnect the EV home & quick charger cable connector (charge connector lock actuator connector) (B544), and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Measure the voltage between the EV home & quick charger cable connector (charge connector lock actuator connector) (B544) (terminal No. 2) and body ground.
OK: Battery voltage [When the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON (READY indicator: OFF)]
Is the check result normal?

3.Check of open circuit in CCPX line between PHEV-ECU and  EV home & quick charger cable connector (charge connector lock actuator connector)
Is the check result normal?
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

4.Check whether the DTC is set again.
(1) Erase the set DTC.
(2) Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON (READY indicator: OFF).
(3) Check whether the DTC is set again.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the PHEV-ECU (Refer to PHEV-ECU REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to General Information - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS).

5.Check of charge connector lock position sensor
(1) Disconnect the EV home & quick charger cable connector (charge connector lock actuator connector) (B544), and measure at the sensor side.
(2) Check the continuity between the EV home & quick charger cable connector (charge connector lock actuator connector) (terminal No. 2) and the EV home & quick charger cable connector (charge connector lock actuator connector) (terminal No. 1)
OK: 16.8 ± 0.84 kΩ
Is the check result normal?
Replace the EV home & quick charger cable (Refer to EV HOME & QUICK CHARGER CABLE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION).

6.Voltage measurement at PHEV-ECU connector (B508)
(1) Disconnect the PHEV-ECU connector (B508), and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Measure the voltage between the PHEV-ECU connector (B508) (CCPX terminal) and body ground.
OK: 1 V or less [When the power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON (READY indicator: OFF)]
Is the check result normal?
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

7.Check whether the DTC is set again.

8.Check whether the DTC is set again.
(1) Erase the set DTC.
(2) Change the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON (READY indicator: OFF).
(3) Perform the test item in special function of PHEV-ECU (Refer to SPECIAL FUNCTION).
  • Item No. 210: LOCK CHARGING CONNECTOR
(4) Check whether the DTC is set again.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the EV home & quick charger cable (Refer to EV HOME & QUICK CHARGER CABLE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to General Information - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS).
