DTC SET CONDITIONS
Check Condition
  • Power supply mode of electric motor switch is ON.
Judgment Criterion
  • Authentication error [BCM (Secure mode)] is detected.
 
 
FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION
READY ON is not possible.
 
 
OBD-II DRIVE CYCLE PATTERN
None.
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS (The most likely causes for this code to be set are:)
  • •Inappropriate key registration operation
  • Intelligent key system failed.
  • Power drive unit failed.
  • Rear motor (malfunction of the REMCU) failed.
  • ECM failed.
cautionThe DTC may be set when the 12V battery is removed.
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB992744: Vehicle communication interface-Lite (V.C.I.-Lite)
  • MB992745: V.C.I.-Lite main harness A
  • MB992747: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable short
  • MB992748: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable long
1.STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III SE), read the other system DTC.
Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III SE) to check whether the other system sets the following DTCs [Refer to ELECTRIC POWER TRAIN, Electric Motor Control Unit (EMCU) and Motor (Electric Motor Unit) – Troubleshooting – Diagnosis Function DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION].
Power drive unit
  • DTC P3084-64: PDU is staying protected because of BCM
REMCU
  • DTC P30FE-64: RMCU is staying protected because of BCM
Is the DTC set?
 
2.STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III SE), read the other system DTC.
Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III SE) to check whether the intelligent key system sets the following DTC.
Keyless operation key unit
  • DTC B2010-1C: Battery voltage
Q: Is the DTC B2010-1C set?
Troubleshoot the set DTCs (Refer to BODY EXTERIOR, DOORS, ROOF & VEHICLE SECURITY, Door & Lock, ECU Diagnosis Information – Intelligent Key Unit DTC Index).
 
3.STEP 3. Voltage measurement at the keyless operation key unit connector terminal number 1.
(1) Disconnect connector, and measure at harness side.
(2) Check the voltage between the keyless operation key unit connector terminal number 1 and ground.
OK: 12V battery voltage
Q: Is the check result normal?
Repair or replace the connector, or repair the damaged harness wire.
 
4.STEP 4. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III SE), DTC recheck after erasing DTC.
After erasing the DTC, check again to see if the DTC is set again.
(1) Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III SE) to erase the DTC.
(2) Turn OFF the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
(3) Turn ON the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
(4) Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III SE) to recheck the DTC.
