REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
Pre-removal and Post-installation Operation
Instrument panel air outlet panel assembly (Passenger's Side) Removal and Installation (Refer to Removal and Installation).
 
 
Removal steps
1.Instrument panel plug
2.Instrument panel center cover assembly
•AV control unit (Refer to Removal and Installation).
3.Instrument panel center cover
4.Sunload sensor
•Optical sensor (Refer to Removal and Installation).
5.Defroster garnish
Required Special Tool:
  • MB990784: Ornament Remover
 
 
REMOVAL SERVICE POINTS
 
 
<<A>> INSTRUMENT PANEL PLUG REMOVAL
Remove the clips shown in the figure. Starting from the clip on the front passenger's side, insert a flat-tipped screwdriver from the side or the lower side of the instrument panel center cover as shown in the figure and disengage the clips.
noteBe sure to remove the instrument panel center cover by following the procedure above, otherwise the instrument panel plug may be damaged.
 

 
 
<<B>> DEFROSTER GARNISH REMOVAL
Using ornament remover (Special tool: MB990784), remove the claw shown in section A - A.
 
 
 
 
INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT

Attach the defroster garnish while supporting the instrument panel from the bottom.
cautionPress firmly into the instrument panel until the claws are securely fitted.
