Work Procedure
1.PREPARATIONS BEFORE WORK
Set the vehicle in the following condition.
  • Temperature condition is -10°C (14°F) or higher.
  • Vehicle is stopped on a flat place.
  • Battery voltage condition is 14.2 V or more.
    noteIf the battery voltage is low, it is necessary to add a booster.

2.AIR BLEEDING AND INITIALIZE OIL DETERIORATION LEVEL
With M.U.T.-III SE
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF to ON.
  2. Select “BLEED AIR & INITIALIZE OIL DETERIORATION LEVEL” in “WORK SUPPORT” for “ALL MODE AWD/4WD”.
  3. Select "OK".
  4. Follow the instructions in M.U.T.-III SE.
    noteWhen air bleeding is activated, operation noise is heard from the lower part of the vehicle, but this is not a malfunction.
Is “Completed” displayed?

Perform self-diagnosis for “ALL MODE AWD/4WD” and check detected DTC. Refer to DTC Index.
 
3.CHECK OIL LEVEL
Check oil level for electro-hydraulic coupling oil again and add oil if necessary. Refer to Adjustment.
noteThe oil level may be reduced after air bleeding.

4.FINAL CHECK
With M.U.T.-III SE
Perform DTC confirmation procedure for DTC “C1220-54”. Refer to DTC Description.
Is DTC “C1220-54” detected?
Proceed to diagnosis procedure. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.
