DTC P1C20: Output Voltage Command Abnormal
 
 
 
 
TROUBLE JUDGMENT
Check Condition
  • The PHEV-ECU allows the DC-DC converter to operate.
Judgment Criterion
  • The value of the 12V output voltage command is abnormal.
 
 
 
FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION
  • The output of DC-DC converter continues.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSE
  • The CAN bus is failed.
  • Noise shows up on the CAN bus.
  • The On board charger/DC-DC converter is failed.
  • The PHEV-ECU is failed.
 
 
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools
  • MB991223: Wiring harness set
  • MB992006: Extra fine probe
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), diagnose CAN bus line.
  • Diagnose CAN bus line.
Is the CAN bus line normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting - CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ).
 
STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the DTC is set.
  1. Operate the electric motor switch with depressing the brake pedal and turn ON the power supply mode of electric motor switch.
  2. Ready indicator is illuminated
  3. Confirm whether the diagnostics trouble code (DTC) is set.
Is the DTC set?
Go to Step 3.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
 
STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the other system DTC is set.
Is the DTC related to PHEV-ECU system set?
Check PHEV-ECU system (Refer to GROUP 54Da - PHEV-ECU - Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart ). Then replace PHEV-ECU.
Replace the on board charger/DC-DC converter (Refer to ).
