DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools
  • MB991223: Wiring harness set
  • MB992006: Extra fine probe
STEP 1. Check 12V starter battery
  • Check 12V starter battery (Refer to GROUP 54A - 12V Starter Battery - Battery Test ).
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2..
Replace the 12V starter battery.

STEP 2. 12V Starter battery condition check
Recently, has the vehicle ever been left under the condition the power supply mode of electric motor switch is ACC?
Erase the diagnostic trouble code, check end
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the other system DTC is set.
Check whether the PHEV-ECU related diagnostic trouble cod is set?
Check PHEV-ECU system (Refer to GROUP 54Da - PHEV-ECU - Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart ).
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Perform the continuity check of the fuse between the IGCT control relay connector and the on board charger/DC-DC converter connector.
  • Perform the continuity check of the fuse.
OK: Continuity
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Replace the fuse. (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - Inspection Service Points For A Blown Fuse ).

STEP 5. Check of short to ground, open circuit and damage in power supply line between IGCT control relay and on board charger/DC-DC converter connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 6.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 6. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the DTC is set again.
  • Reconfirmation of diagnostic trouble code.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the on board charger/DC-DC converter .
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
