INSPECTION PROCEDURE 7: Charge is not completed (It stops on the way)

cautionCharging current will be restricted when the main drive lithium-ion battery temperature is low or high.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
It could be caused by too low or high cell temperature, or a defective radiator fan motor.

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • A cell temperature is low
  • A cell temperature is high
  • Malfunction of the main drive lithium-ion battery cooling fan
  • Difference between cell voltages is large

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check the data list. <BMU>
Check that the following service data display contents are normal (Refer to ).
  • Item No.8: Module maximum temperature
OK: 10°C (50°F) or less
  • Item No.10: Module minimum temperature
OK: 3°C (37°F) or more
  • Item No.22: BAT.cell voltage difference MAX
OK: More than 0.2V
Is the check result normal?
Check the normal charger.
: Perform the normal charging immediately after driving the vehicle.
: Go to Step 2.
: Go to Step 3.

STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the any DTC is set.
Check if any DTC related to the main drive lithium-ion battery cooling fan is set in the BMU (Refer to GROUP 54Dc - Inspection Chart for Diagnostic Trouble Code ).
Is any DTC set?
Troubleshoot for the relevant DTC.
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check the actuator test. <BMU>
(1) Execute the following actuator tests (Refer to ).
  • Item No. 2: BAT.cell voltage difference MAX
(2) Check that the following data list battery management unit (BMU) (Refer to ).
  • Item No. 249 - 256: <CMU ID01> Cell 000 Balancer drive - Cell 007 Balancer drive
  • Item No. 261 - 268: <CMU ID02> Cell 012 Balancer drive - Cell 019 Balancer drive
  • Item No. 273 - 280: <CMU ID03> Cell 024 Balancer drive - Cell 031 Balancer drive
  • Item No. 285 - 292: <CMU ID04> Cell 036 Balancer drive - Cell 043 Balancer drive
  • Item No. 297 - 304: <CMU ID05> Cell 048 Balancer drive - Cell 055 Balancer drive
  • Item No. 321 - 328: <CMU ID07> Cell 072 Balancer drive - Cell 079 Balancer drive
  • Item No. 333 - 340: <CMU ID08> Cell 084 Balancer drive - Cell 091 Balancer drive
  • Item No. 345 - 352: <CMU ID09> Cell 096 Balancer drive - Cell 103 Balancer drive
  • Item No. 357 - 364: <CMU ID10> Cell 108 Balancer drive - Cell 115 Balancer drive
  • Item No. 369 - 376: <CMU ID11> Cell 120 Balancer drive - Cell 127 Balancer drive
OK: ON
Is the check result normal?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the any DTC is set.
Check if any DTC related to the balancer is set in the BMU (Refer to GROUP 54Dc - Inspection Chart for Diagnostic Trouble Code ).
Is any DTC set?
Troubleshoot for the relevant DTC.
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
