DTC P1007: GCU internal error(2)

DESCRIPTIONS OF MONITOR METHODS
The torque of the drive motor and the starter generator is monitored by the PHEV-ECU, checking that the drive motor and the starter generator are safely controlled.

Other Monitor (There is no temporary DTC stored in memory for the item monitored below)
  • Motor/Generator control circuit monitor
  • EV-CAN monitor
  • Generator control unit (GCU) current monitor
  • Generator control unit (GCU) coil temperature monitor
  • Generator control unit (GCU) IGBT temperature monitor
  • Generator control unit (GCU) capacitor temperature monitor
  • Generator control unit (GCU) control module temperature monitor
  • Generator control unit (GCU) 3 phase circuit monitor
  • Generator control unit (GCU) control module circuit monitor
  • Drive motor oil temperature monitor
  • Electrical oil pump monitor
  • Generator control unit (GCU) inverter voltage monitor
Sensor (The sensor below is determined to be normal)
  • Generator control unit (GCU) current sensor
  • Generator control unit (GCU) coil temperature sensor
  • Generator control unit (GCU) position sensor

DTC SET CONDITIONS

Check Conditions
  • The power supply mode of electric motor switch is ON.
  • The PHEV-ECU power supply voltage is more than 9.0 volts.
  • The absolute value of the command torque of the generator control unit (GCU) is less than 200 Nm/sec.
Judgment Criterion
  • When a state where the absolute value of the difference between the command torque of the generator control unit (GCU) and the response torque of the generator control unit (GCU) is larger than 20 Nm continues for 0.5 seconds
 
 
OBD-II DRIVE CYCLE PATTERN
  • Refer to Diagnostic Function - OBD-II Drive Cycle - Pattern 1 .
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
Malfunction of the power drive unit (GCU).
 
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the other DTC is set.
Check whether the power drive unit (GCU) and PHEV-ECU related DTC is set or not (Refer to GROUP 54Db - Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart <GCU> or <PHEV-ECU>).
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot for the relevant DTC. Then go to Step 3.
Go to Step 2.
 
STEP 2. Test the OBD-II drive cycle.
(1) Carry out a test drive with the drive cycle pattern. Refer to Diagnostic Function - OBD-II Drive Cycle - Pattern 1 .
(2) Check the DTC.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the power drive unit (Refer to GROUP 54Db - Power Drive Unit Removal and Installation ). Then go to Step 3.
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
 
STEP 3. Test the OBD-II drive cycle.
(1) Carry out a test drive with the drive cycle pattern. Refer to Diagnostic Function - OBD-II Drive Cycle - Pattern 1 .
(2) Check the DTC.
Is the DTC set?
Retry the troubleshooting.
The procedure is complete.
