DTC C100A: FL wheel speed sensor circuit
DTC C1015: FR wheel speed sensor circuit
DTC C1020: RL wheel speed sensor circuit
DTC C102B: RR wheel speed sensor circuit

cautionWhenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.

DTC SET CONDITIONS
The PHEV-ECU sets the DTCs below when a road wheel speed sensor circuit fails.
noteThe PHEV-ECU receives the wheel speed sensor data from the ASC-ECU via CAN.
  • DTC C100A: FL wheel speed sensor circuit
  • DTC C1015: FR wheel speed sensor circuit
  • DTC C1020: RL wheel speed sensor circuit
  • DTC C102B: RR wheel speed sensor circuit

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Damaged wiring harness and connectors.
  • Malfunction of the wheel speed detection encoder.
  • Malfunction of the wheel speed sensor.
  • Malfunction of the ASC-ECU.
  • Malfunction of the PHEV-ECU.

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the other DTC is set.
Check whether the ASC-ECU related DTC is set or not. (Refer to GROUP 35C - Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart ).
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot for the relevant DTC.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check the data list. <ASC-ECU>
Check that the following data list display contents are normal. (Refer to GROUP 35C - Data List Reference Table ).
  • Item No.01: FL wheel speed sensor
  • Item No.02: FR wheel speed sensor
  • Item No.03: RL wheel speed sensor
  • Item No.04: RR wheel speed sensor
Is the check result normal?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check the data list. <PHEV-ECU>
Check that the following data list display contents are normal.
  • Item No.334: FL wheel speed sensor
  • Item No.335: FR wheel speed sensor
  • Item No.336: RL wheel speed sensor
  • Item No.337: RR wheel speed sensor
Is the check result normal?
Replace the hydraulic unit (integrated with ASC-ECU) (Refer to GROUP 35C - Hydraulic Unit Removal and Installation ). Then go to Step 4.
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

STEP 4. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the DTC is set again.
Recheck the DTC.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Turn off the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
(3) Turn on the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
(4) Drive the vehicle at 20 km/h (12 mph) or higher.
noteThe ABS warning light does not turn OFF in some cases unless the vehicle runs at 20 km/h (12 mph) or higher.
(5) Check the DTC.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the PHEV-ECU (Refer to ).
The procedure is complete.
