DTC P0A0C: Inter lock circuit low

cautionWhenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.

DTC SET CONDITIONS
The PHEV-ECU sets DTC P0A0C when the service plug switch fails.

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of the service plug.
  • Malfunction of the service switch.
  • Service plug improperly connected.
  • Damaged harness or connector.
  • Malfunction of the PHEV-ECU.

DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools
  • MB991223: Wiring harness set
  • MB992006: Extra fine probe
STEP 1. Service plug check.
(1) Check that the service plug is properly connected.
(2) Check the service plug (Refer to ).
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Connect the service plug properly or replace the service plug. Then go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check the signal line for open circuit and short to ground circuit (service plug switch connector and the PHEV-ECU connector).
Check the wiring harness between service plug switch connector (terminal No.2) and the PHEV-ECU connector (terminal ILK).
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Repair the connector or wiring harness.

STEP 3. Service plug switch check.
Refer to .
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Replace the service plug (Refer to ).

STEP 4. Resistance measurement at main drive lithium-ion battery harness.
(1) Disassemble the main drive lithium-ion battery.
(2) Check at the main drive lithium-ion battery wiring harness without disconnecting the service plug assembly and the main drive lithium-ion battery wiring harness.
(3) Measure the resistance between the main drive lithium-ion battery wiring harness connector (terminals No.1 and No.2).
OK:
  • Service plug is inserted: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)
  • Service plug is not inserted: No continuity
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Replace the service plug (Refer to ).

STEP 5. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the DTC is set again.
Recheck the DTC.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Turn off the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
(3) Depress the brake pedal, and turn on the power supply mode of the electric motor switch (READY operation)*.
note*: When a DTC is set, you cannot make the READY (ready to drive) indicator illuminate by making the READY operation.
(4) Check the DTC.
Is the DTC set?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
The procedure is complete.
