DTC P1B2D: VIN mismatch

cautionWhenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.

DTC SET CONDITIONS
The PHEV-ECU sets DTC P1B2D when the VIN stored in the REMCU does not correspond to that stored in the PHEV-ECU.

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of the REMCU.
  • VIN stored in the PHEV-ECU is incorrect.
  • Malfunction of the PHEV-ECU.

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the other DTC is set.
Check whether a VIN-related DTC is set in the ECM, the REMCU or the PHEV-ECU (Refer to GROUP 13A - ECM, Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart <ECM>, <REMCU> or <PHEV-ECU>).
Is the DTC set?
Carry out troubleshooting for the DTC. Then go to Step 3.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check stored VINs.
Check the VINs stored in the REMCU and the PHEV-ECU (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Write the VIN to the Engine Control Module, the KOS-ECU, the OSS-ECU, the PHEV-ECU and the REMCU ).
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Write the VIN to the REMCU or the PHEV-ECU (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Write the VIN to the Engine Control Module, the KOS-ECU, the OSS-ECU, the PHEV-ECU and the REMCU ).

STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the DTC is set again.
Recheck the DTC.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Turn off the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
(3) Turn on the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
(4) Check the DTC.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the PHEV-ECU (Refer to ).
The procedure is complete.
