DTC U1190 No receive fault detect signal

caution
  • If DTC U1190 is set, diagnose the CAN bus lines.
  • When replacing the ECU, always check that the communication circuit is normal.

JUDGMENT CRITERIA
ETACS-ECU sends the DTC (U code) detection permission or prohibition signal to each ECU connected to the CAN bus line. If the gateway-ECU cannot receive the DTC (U code) detection permission or prohibition signal for 5 seconds after turn on the power supply mode of the electric motor switch, DTC U1190 will be set.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
  • Malfunction of CAN bus line
  • Malfunction of the gateway-ECU

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), diagnose the CAN bus line.
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn off the power supply mode of the electric motor switch before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Turn on the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
(3) Diagnose the CAN bus line.
(4) Turn off the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
Is the CAN bus line found to be normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to ).

STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the EPS-ECU DTC.
Check if DTC is set in the EPS-ECU.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the ETACS-ECU (Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS ).
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Recheck for DTC.
Recheck if the DTC is set.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Turn the power supply mode of the electric motor switch from OFF to ON.
(3) On completion, check that the DTC is not set again.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the gateway-ECU (Refer to ).
Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
