DTC B1761: VIN not programmed
 
 
cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the ground circuit and the communication circuit are normal.
 
 
DTC SET CONDITION
If the chassis number is not written to the ETACS-ECU, the ETACS-ECU sets DTC No. B1761.
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Chassis number not programmed
  • The ETACS-ECU may be defective.
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), diagnose the CAN bus line.
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn off the power supply mode of the electric motor switch before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Erase the DTC.
(3) Press the electric motor switch to turn the power supply mode from "OFF" to "ON."
(4) If no chassis number is stored in the ETACS-ECU, check whether a chassis number is stored in the engine control module.(Refer to GROUP 13A - DTC No. P0630 "Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Malfunction" ).
(5) Check if DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the ETACS-ECU.
The diagnosis is complete.
