DTC L0432: RLS RS adaptation error
 
 
 
 
DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
When the lighting control sensor is installed with the wrong procedure, DTC No. L0432 is set by LIN.
 
 
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
The lighting control sensor may have been installed with the wrong procedure.
  • Incorrect installation procedure: Connect the connector before mounting the lighting control sensor onto the lighting control sensor bracket of the windshield.
  • Correct installation procedure: Mount the lighting control sensor onto the optical coupler of the windshield. Wipe the windshield surface thoroughly, and check that the surface is dry. Then, connect the connector.

  • Lighting control sensor improperly installed
  • Lighting control sensor (rain sensor) abnormal operation
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Check whether the DTC is set again.
Disconnect the connector from the lighting control sensor, and connect the connector to the lighting control sensor again. Then, check again if the DTC is set in LIN.

cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn off the power supply mode of the electric motor switch before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Disconnect the connector of lighting control sensor, and connect it again.
noteWhen connecting the connector, follow the correct installation procedure.
(3) Press the electric motor switch to turn on the power supply mode.
(4) Check if DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Go to Step 2.
The lighting control sensor is installed with the wrong procedure.
 
STEP 2. Lighting control sensor installation surface check.
Visually check the presence of scratches or air bubbles (diameter of 5 mm or more) on the windshield to which the lighting control sensor is installed. In addition, visually check that the lighting control sensor can be installed.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Replace the windshield (Refer to GROUP 42A - Windshield ).
 
STEP 3. Check whether the DTC is set again.
Check again if the DTC is set in LIN.
(1) Wipe the windshield surface of the lighting control sensor section thoroughly, and check that the surface is dry. Then, perform the lighting control sensor (rain sensor) adaptation. [Refer to GROUP 51 - Lighting Control Sensor (Rain Sensor) Adaptation ].
(2) Press the electric motor switch to turn on the power supply mode.
(3) Check if DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the lighting control sensor.
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
