Inspection Procedure 12: KOS timer lock function does not work.
 
 
cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the ground circuit and the communication circuit are normal.
 
 
 
 
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
After the door is unlocked using the keyless entry function or the door entry function, if no operation is performed, the door is locked when the time specified by a customization function has elapsed. However, when an open signal of any of the doors is received by ETACS-ECU or when the electric motor switch power supply mode is ON, the KOS timer lock function will not be activated.
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of ETACS-ECU
  • Malfunction of the door switches
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Check the keyless entry function operation
Check that the keyless entry function operation normally.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Refer to Inspection Procedure 11: "Keyless entry function does not work ."
 
STEP 2. Check the door entry function operation
Check that the door entry function operation normally.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Refer to trouble symptom chart .
 
STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the diagnostic trouble code.
Check if any DTC is set in the KOS-ECU.

cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to the OFF before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Turn the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON.
(3) Check if DTC is set.
(4) Turn the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to OFF.
Is the DTC set?
Refer to diagnostic trouble code chart .
Go to Step 4.
 
STEP 4. Check of the troubles
Check that the KOS timer lock function operates.
Is the check result normal?
Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points ).
Perform troubleshooting for each door switch (Refer to GROUP 54A, ETACS - Diagnosis ).
