Inspection Procedure 3: The FCM does not activate the automatic braking normally.
 
 
caution
  • The system may not also work correctly under certain external factors (such as weather, road conditions, or ambient environments). Prior to the diagnosis, grasp the details if necessary.
  • Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
 
 
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
Any of the followings are suspected: bad weather (heavy rain, snow, icing), unfavorable road condition, ambient environment, or vehicle condition (heavy load, wheel alignment, tire punctuation), blocked FCM/LDW/AHB-ECU sensor or its surroundings (cracks, contamination, icing, fog on the windshield or the sensor), a faulty FCM/LDW/AHB-ECU.
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Faults on the windshield glass (such as scratch, cracks, contamination or drain drops on the glass surface)
  • FCM/LDW/AHB-ECU improperly installed
  • Malfunction of the FCM/LDW/AHB-ECU
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Check the FCM/LDW/AHB-ECU mounted surface on the windshield.
Visually check the FCM/LDW/AHB-ECU mounted surface on the windshield for scratch, cracks, contamination or drain drops.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Windshield glass replacement (Refer to GROUP 42A - windshield glass removal and installation ).
 
STEP 2. Retest the system.

cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn off the power supply mode of the electric motor switch before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Drive the vehicle for approx. ten minutes.

cautionAfter the road test, do not turn off the power supply mode of the electric motor switch. If yes, a DTC may be erased.
Check if DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot the relevant DTC (Refer to ).
This symptom is caused by a bad weather or environments. It is not a malfunction.
