Inspection Procedure 5: USB device data cannot be replayed. <Vehicles with display audio (CD player no equipped type)>
 
 
caution
  • Before replacing the radio and CD player, ensure that the power supply circuit, the ground circuit and the communication circuit are normal.
  • Check whether the radio and CD player supports your audio device or an audio file format.
 
 
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
If the USB device data cannot be replayed, the USB cable or radio and CD player may be defective.
note
  • Before troubleshooting, check that the music file (the customer tried to replay) can be replayed.
  • When any error is found in a connected iPod, first check whether it is an official product.

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Check if the error message is displayed on the radio and CD player.

Is the error message displayed on the monitor?
: Refer to error massage (refer to ) and take necessary steps. If the USB device is still not be played, go to Step 2.
Go to Step 2.
 
STEP 2. Check the USB device.
Check that the USB device is supported by this system.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
The USB device must be supported by this system.
 
STEP 3. Check the USB cable.
Check that the USB cable is connected to the radio and CD player normally. Or check the USB cable for damage such as bend.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Replace or repair the USB cable.
 
STEP 4. Retest the system.
Check whether an audio file, which is stored in the USB device, can be played.
Is the check result normal?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the radio and CD player.
