DTC P0510: Closed Throttle Position Switch Malfunction <3.0L Engine>

CIRCUIT OPERATION
• A 5-volt voltage is applied on the closed throttle position switch output terminal (terminal 2) from the PCM (terminal 79) via the resistor in the PCM.
• The ground terminal (terminal 1) is grounded with PCM (terminal 57).
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
• The closed throttle position switch converts whether the accelerator pedal is pressed down or not into a high/low voltage, and input it to the PCM.
• While the engine is at idle without pressing the accelerator pedal, "ON" signal can be input from the closed throttle position switch to PCM.
• The PCM check the input signal during engine idling.
DTC SET CONDITIONS

Check Conditions
TPS output voltage is 2 volts or more.

Judgement Criteria
• Closed throttle position switch shows "ON."

Check Conditions
After driving for two seconds or more at 30 km/h (19 mph), stop the vehicle. Repeat this driving and stopping for 15 times or more.

Judgement Criteria
Closed throttle position switch shows "OFF."
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS (The most likely causes for this code to be set are: )
• Closed throttle position switch failed.
• Open or shorted closed throttle position switch circuit, or loose connector.
• PCM failed.
