caution
  • When DTC B1A25 is set, be sure to diagnose the CAN bus line.
  • When replacing the ECU, always check that the communication circuit is normal.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
DTC B1A25 is set when the ETACS-ECU or the transponder fails.

JUDGMENT CRITERIA
The ETACS-ECU determines that the system is defective when the ETACS-ECU or the transponder fails with the ignition switch "ON".

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • The CAN bus line may be defective
  • The ignition key may be defective
  • The ETACS-ECU may be defective
  • The transponder may be defective

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), diagnose the CAN bus line.
(1)
cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(3) Diagnose the CAN bus line.
(4) Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
Is the CAN bus line found to be normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).

STEP 2. Register the key ID and using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the DTC again.
Register the key ID of the ignition key which the DTC indicates (Refer to ), and check again if the DTC is set.
(1) Register the ignition key which the DTC indicates.
(2) Remove the ignition key from the cylinder and then insert the ignition key again.
(3) Wait for a few seconds, and then turn the ignition "ON".
(4) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Go to Step 3.
The diagnosis is complete.

STEP 3. Replace the ignition key with a new one, and read the DTC again.
Replace the ignition key, which the DTC indicates, with a new one, register the key ID of the new key, (refer to ), and check again if the DTC is set.
(1) Replace the ignition key, which the DTC indicates, with a new one. Then register it.
(2) Erase the DTC.
(3) Remove the ignition key from the cylinder and then insert the ignition key again.
(4) Wait for a few seconds, and then turn the ignition "ON".
(5) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace the ETACS-ECU (Refer to ) and register the ID codes (Refer to ).
The diagnosis is complete.
