DTC B16A9 Turn light(LH) deactivated
 
 
cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the ground circuit and the communication circuit are normal.
 
 
DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
DTC B16A9 will be set when the turn-signal light (LH) control circuit in the ETACS-ECU fails.
 
 
TROUBLE JUDGMENT
DTC B16A9 will be set when the ETACS-ECU detects a short to ground in its turn-signal light (LH) control circuit.
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Turn -signal light circuit fails
  • The ETACS-ECU may be defective
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the other DTC.
Check if DTC B16A2 is set in ETACS-ECU.

cautionTo prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "How to connect Scan Tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
(2) Erase the DTC.
(3) Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
(4) Check if DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Carry out the troubleshooting for DTC B16A2. On completion, replace the ETACS-ECU when it has not been replaced as the troubleshooting process for DTC B16A2. This is because DTC B16A9 cannot be erased.
Replace the ETACS-ECU.
