Inspection Procedure 8: The LED headlight warning light illuminates. <Up to 20 Model year>
 
 
cautionWhenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the power supply circuit, the ground circuit and the communication circuit are normal.
 
 
 
 
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
If the LED headlight warning light illuminates, the LED headlights, the related connectors, the ETACS-ECU or the combination meter may be defective.
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • The LED headlight(s) may be defective
  • The ETACS-ECU may be defective
  • The combination meter may be defective
  • The wiring harness or connectors may have loose, corroded, or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Check that the headlights operate.
Check that the low beam and high beam headlights illuminate normally.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the headlight assembly (Refer to ).
 
STEP 2. Retest the system.
Check whether the LED headlight warning light is off.
Is the check result normal?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Go to Step 3.
 
STEP 3. Retest the system.
Substitute the ETACS-ECU with a known good one. Turn the headlights on by operating the lighting switch. Check whether the LED headlight warning light is off.
Is the check result normal?
Replace the ETACS-ECU.
Install the original ETACS-ECU, and replace the combination meter.
